40th Annual Walk to End HIV

The Whitman-Walker Foundation invites you to join them in making this moment a reality on Saturday, September 19th at Anacostia Park in Southeast DC. It will be the 40th Annual Walk and 5K to End HIV and your donation will go directly towards lifesaving research services for those most in need in our community, many of whom live with or at risk of HIV, regardless of their ability to pay.

Dignity Washington and Dignity Northern Virginia sponsor its communities to contribute in the walk with a $500 donation. We participate under the name of Jim DePersis who was a long-time member of Dignity Washington and volunteered at New Ways Ministry for a dozen or so years. In addition, his favorite charity was the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center that opened in 1993 and is now simply part of the Whitman-Walker Clinic. Jim was the driving force behind the Dignity Washington’s involvement with the then AIDS Walk. For that reason, we named the team after him following his death in October 2009.
